10 Things We Learned Attending WWE WrestleMania 40 Live
3. WrestleMania 40 Holds The Solution To A Big Potential Issue
Dominick Mysterio is the most hated figure in WWE. It's an exercise in conditioning in part, in that WWE pressed a button and asked the fans to echo the boos, but Dom is a good little bastard.
That is until you attend WrestleMania live.
He isn't the most loathed guy on the roster. He didn't generate that much of a reaction, strangely. As mentioned, anti-Becky Lynch sentiment existed in the stadium. To a considerably lesser extent, the same thing could be written about Cody Rhodes. More than a handful of people seemed exhausted by him, but again: vocal minority. Drew McIntyre is a cracking love-to-hate figure, so much so that people just enjoy and identify with his "hater" energy. In short: every wrestler irrespective of role had their detractors and their supporters.
With one exception: Logan Paul.
He is universally despised, which in wrestling is super rare. The baddies are the most fun. Look at heel Rock! You can't be too good at being a bad guy because the fans will grow to respect your mastery of the craft. Weirdly, Paul has mastered his craft, incredibly early, but it doesn't matter. People just hate the guy.
If that anti-Cody sentiment mushrooms throughout 2024, WWE should know who to programme him against.
