After his stint in the navy and an equally inspiring-sounding time selling home improvements, Charles Robinson decided it was time to do something he enjoyed. After surveying his options, he got in contact with the PWF (Pro Wrestling Federation) in Charlotte (North Carolina) and secured a job with the company as a photographer, which he had some experience of from the navy.

His spot as a photographer didn't last long however, as he was quickly involved in a major angle. He was to take a photo of a top star in the promotion, blinding him and causing him to lose a match. The star, whose name Robinson does not remember, would then beat the ever-loving life out of poor Charles, leaving him a bloody mess in the centre of the ring.

Yes, Charles Robinson's first job was to learn how to blade.

He was then assigned as a special guest referee, a guest spot that quickly became his full-time job. This year was 1995, and Charles Robinson was about to embark on a very special career.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
