10 Things We Learned From CM Punk On Renée Paquette's Podcast

4. Punk Doesn’t Think Wrestlers Will Ever Unionise

The subject of wrestlers grouping together to unionise seems to come up every few years, but Punk doesn't think it'll ever happen. In fact, he's sure of it. According to him, "the boys" is a "trope" that doesn't exist, and the notion that wrestlers are "like family" on the road is a myth.

He thinks there will always be some willing to undercut others if it means they get ahead.

Interestingly enough, this went against what Renée had said right at the start of the podcast. She asked Punk what he missed about wrestling most, and he said it was people like her. Punk also joked that he didn't want to put Paquette over too much, but described her as a "peach". That made her smile, and led to her remarks about wrestlers being like family.

Punk obviously doesn't see it that way. To him, it's a marriage of convenience, and stops dead as soon as someone "is out of the bubble". Of course, he tries not to take it personally that he doesn't speak to most of his old peers these days.
