10 Things We Learned From Corey Graves' New WWE Podcast

7. Flair Would Pick Roman Reigns As His Next Opponent

One of the softer questions Graves asked of Ric Flair gave one of the more surprising answers.

Ric was tasked by the host to pick out a current WWE name he'd like to have wrestled for 60 minutes in his prime. Without hesitating, Flair named Roman Reigns as that guy. That's bound to raise some eyebrows from those expecting a name like Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins or Dolph Ziggler; Flair has been complimentary of that trio before.

It's unlikely that Ric feels the need to pander to WWE doctrine these days. By choosing Roman, he was putting Reigns over, but it didn't come across that he was lying through his front teeth or trying to cosy in with a made man in the promotion. Nope, Flair seems to respect Roman for his work ethic, and that makes perfect sense.

Ric himself was a grafter back in his day. He could often be found propping up the bars at 6am and then pounding the treadmill at 9am before wrestling a gruelling title match. He knows a workhorse when he sees one.
