10 Things We Learned From Damien Sandow On Chris Jericho's Podcast
4. Their Favourite Moment Together Was The Ottawa Screwjob
On July 8th 2014, WWE's Main Event Broadcast was in Ottowa, Canada and featured one of the all time great Canadian wrestlers, Bret "the Hitman" Hart. Bret was being interviewed by none other than his countryman Y2J Chris Jericho in this segment and was asked the age old question of what his greatest rivalry was.
Bret starts by mentioning Mr. Perfect and his brother Owen before adding Stone Cold Steve Austin and the Undertaker to the list. He tops all of these however when he states that the rivalry that stands out most is with none other than Shawn Michaels. The crowd erupts into a mixture of boos and cheers before the unthinkable happens, HBK's music plays!
For a moment, the crowd goes wild but they soon realised they've been had. Cue Damien Sandow in a hilariously bad wig. He hits the ring and gets on the mic, winding Bret up about how he's going to send him back to Ted Turner at WCW. Sandow receives a stiff forearm for his troubles and is swiftly put into the sharpshooter. Y2J plays Earl Hebner and demands the bell is rung before time is called on a hugely entertaining piece of television.
Sandow and Y2J reminisce fondly, making it clear it was the best moment they had together in the ring.
