6. The Rochelle Story Is Seriously Grim
Brace yourselves, because this is upsetting.
Melanie claims it was Brian's suggestion to file for custody over Rochelle's daughter Brittany. That caused a huge schism in the family, and it's something Mel said she regrets to this day. Brittany is having none of that - she thinks Melanie is "literally the devil" and has zero time for her whatsoever.
Things escalated to the point that Melanie filed kidnapping charges against Rochelle for coming close to her own daughter. Wow. Later, Rochelle tragically shot herself, and poor Linda was the one who had to tell everybody that she'd passed away in a helicopter en route to the hospital.
Your emotions will be all over the place watching this bit. Melanie comes across as the obvious heel, but there's so much sadness in her voice that it's hard (as an outsider) to judge anyone involved. She fought back tears whilst remembering how guilty Brian felt about Rochelle's death afterwards, and his grief at her funeral.
