10 Things We Learned From Dark Side Of The Ring: Collision In Korea
9. Ric Flair’s Disappointment
Bischoff still reckons that Ric Flair is disappointed about effectively being a second-string substitute for Hogan. There's no word on the doc about whether or not WCW would've taken Flair as well as Hulk, but there is some talk about the 'Nature Boy' ending up rather miffed.
Playing second fiddle to Hulk was a trend Ric would have to get used to; WCW pinpointed Hogan as their premier star almost immediately from '94 onwards. The in-ring genius and all-round majesty of Flair was scuffed by Hogan's aura, and everyone could see it happening before their very eyes.
Ric wasn't daft - he could see it too.
That's presumably why he was a little insulted by the notion that he was backup for Hulk at 'Collision In Korea'. VICE didn't grab a hold of Flair for any comments on 'Dark Side Of The Ring', which is a shame. It would've been fascinating to hear his thoughts on this topic.
