Pre-WWF days, Matt approached ex-Killer Bee Brian Blair in a bar and asked, "Why you messing with my girl?". Blair told VICE he had no clue what Borne was talking about and tried to defuse the situation. When he turned away, Matt hit him from behind, suplexed him (?!), then tried to bite his nose.

Brian ended up chomping into Borne's bottom lip and spat part of it across the room. If he thought that was the end of it, he was wrong. Later, Matt came back for more and took another beating because of it. That still wasn't the end! Borne attacked again, and tried to go for Blair's eyes; Ivan Koloff jumped in to stop that by yelling, "No eyes".

Blair thinks Borne was trying to establish himself as a tough guy, but it backfired on him. "I guess...if you have the right drugs in you, they can make you superhuman". The ex-WWF star couldn't believe how fired up Matt was about absolutely nothing.
