10 Things We Learned From Drew McIntyre On Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Sessions
5. He Pushed That BT Sport Ad Through
McIntyre was on a March media tour of the UK when WWE texted to say they were "pulling him out" of the country immediately. This text came through at 4am local time for Drew, so it's easy to understand why he was confused. He didn't know that COVID-19 had landed, or that 2020 was about to turn upside down.
WWE told McIntyre that he'd have to catch a 1pm flight back to the US.
Shaking off the cobwebs and waking himself up, Drew messaged the BT Sport crew he was supposed to shoot an ad with that coming morning and said they had to do it now. There was no time to waste, and McIntyre didn't want to miss out on what he thought would be a cool visual that'd help his journey to WrestleMania.
The future would take care of itself, but that commercial had to be shot. By 5am-ish, Drew was on his way to the freezing cold Scottish countryside to lift barrels, yell a lot and generally look like a Brock Lesnar-beating beast.
