4. Promoting The NWO

Interestingly, the contract notes that Hogan will be paid $20,000 per month to promote NWO merchandise. That's why you'd see him in the NWO T-shirt so much when making general appearances on TV shows or other media. He was making money by promoting the brand. The NWO brand was almost as strong as WCW at one point, and they even thought about spinning it off as a separate television show.
