10 Things We Learned From IMPACT Wrestling Live

8. Opening With Joe Hendry Was Wise

Joe Hendry is a star on the rise on IMPACT's programming generally, but he also cut his teeth in front of many who flocked to Glasgow's opening tour date years ago. The Scot's work for indy promotions like ICW, Discovery, WCPW/Defiant and more meant there was a homecoming feel to his opener vs. Rich Swann.

Kicking things off with Joe was smart, basically.

The interactive elements of his act had people young and old swinging their arms around (again with smiles on their faces), and then Hendry showed off a killer hybrid powerhouse-meets-technician style that further endeared him to those who might not have seen his work in a while - at least not up close in person.

Who knows how this will shake out when the episodes are spliced up for TV, but catering to a live audience is key when taping. Sure, you need cohesion for telly. You also need to keep fans entertained, and that's why Joe was the ideal launch point for Glasgow.
