10 Things We Learned From Jeff Hardy On Stone Cold’s Broken Skull Podcast

9. His First WWE Wage

This is the kind of thing that'd never fly nowadays, and rightly so. Imagine someone appeared on WWE TV as an enhancement worker, then revealed that they were giving two thirds of their wage to an ageing veteran just for recommending them. That's what happened to Jeff back in the mid-90s.

He was getting a measly $150 per night for playing jobber for the WWF. A tidy $100 of that went to The Italian Stallion - the journeyman pro had been involved in training both Matt and Jeff Hardy, and he earned some cash from any bookings they accepted. "Some" is an understatement.

The dude was pretty much taking their entire wage.

This didn't change until the Hardy brothers realised they could get gigs through 'Chief' Jay Strongbow instead. It's a bit mad to think that he was only hauling in 50 bucks for those shots on Monday Night Raw. That can't have been enough to cover travel expenses, food etc.
