10 Things We Learned From Lita On Stone Cold’s Broken Skull Sessions Podcast

7. The Hidden “Thanks Buddy” Tap

This is something you probably haven’t noticed before.

Austin ran some footage of Lita hitting a dive spot onto Albert at Fully Loaded 2000. If you watch that clip closely, you’ll see her tap him on the leg as if to say “thank you” afterwards. That was Lita's way of showing appreciation to the male workers, because she says those dudes could’ve vetoed spots like the dive with ease.

This was especially true back during the 'Attitude' era. A lot of men were still frosty on the idea of selling for women, but Lita told Austin that everyone was cool with her. Albert, his partner Test, Dean Malenko and numerous others all got the "thanks buddy" tap as a result.

'Stone Cold' admired that, because it showed that Lita still had respect for those who were willing to help her up the ladder. She said that such support wasn't something she was ever going to take for granted. That's really, really cool.
