So morale is the surprisingly positive bottom line of working for TNA, but whats the best thing about not being currently tied to a WWE contract?
The absolute freedom that it allows me. I make my own schedule. I work when I want to, I take off when I want to. The WWE is the best-an incredible company-but if you're there full-time, it really consumes your life.
That could have been an opportunity to burn bridges with the company, but thats clearly not a door Hardy is willing to close entirely. The freedom comment is hardly surprising though, considering the backlash he suffered after defying WWE hierarchy to push his feud with Edge in 2005:
WWE doesn't like when the fans/performers push them in a certain way without their consent/control. I certainly didn't handle everything perfect at that time, but I knew I would get some backlash for forcing their hand in rehiring me & pushing the Matt/Edge feud.
Despite the positivity, Hardy did take the opportunity to offer the slightest criticism when asked about the source of his Matt Facts:
99.5% of the time, ME. 0.5% (or the bad ones), WWE production.
