2. Strong Style Has Arrived

Just over one year ago, WWE announced the blockbuster signing of Japanese sensation Shinsuke Nakamura, with a view to utilise him on NXT before his inevitable main roster arrival.

His debut may be one of the greatest moments in company history.

As captured in WWE's '24' documentary on the weekend's festivities, Triple H was in awe at the crowd's response to his enigmatic and vainglorious entrance with barely a sniff of an appearance on the shows before his debut victory over Sami Zayn in possibly the company's best singles match last year.

Flash forward 12 months and a couple of NXT Titles later, and the 'King of Strong Style' made his grandiose arrival on the blue brand to interrupt The Miz and Maryse doing another sterling job of verbally eviscerating John Cena and Nikki Bella.

Then he did nothing. Then they did nothing. It was...weird.

Maybe the company were looking for a spine-tingling reaction they received in Dallas for his histrionics, but even an impassioned crowd only had so many roars left after a loaded weekend of action. Furthermore, his entrance last year was one opening moment that preceded an intense, emotional battle that also proved his worth as a wrestler.

The entire presentation felt like a gift to an expectant live crowd, with little thought given to how he may be perceived on television.

Wherever he ends up after the 'shake-up', WWE need to supply far more physically impressive second attempt.
