The classic image of 'Taker, Shawn Michaels and Triple H sharing a group hug at the top of the WrestleMania XXVIII stage wasn't pre-planned. According to The Undertaker, it happened organically, and there was a genuine tear running down his cheek.

To him, that was a wrap on an epic career.

'Taker recalls thinking he'd retire following 'Mania XXVIII. He had nothing left to prove after four storming back-to-back matches with Michaels and Trips; later that night, he remembers pain searing through his body when the adrenaline wore off. That cemented in 'Taker's mind that he'd have to embrace the reality of his situation and hang up the boots.

Vince McMahon put paid to that when he convinced The Undertaker to have 'one more run'. That, of course, turned into another run, and another run, and yet another run. He's still operating in that mind set. Every match could feasibly be his last.
