There's been a lot of talk over the years about why The Undertaker never left the WWF to rejoin WCW. Some have claimed that he almost did before becoming the biker character in 2000, and Eric Bischoff has stated on his podcast that he wouldn't have known what to do with Mark Calaway without the 'Taker gimmick anyway.

Broken Skull Sessions cleared everything up.

'Taker couldn't forget what Ole Anderson had said to him in the late-'80s, and he'd never stop thanking Vince McMahon for being the one guy to take a chance on him. He said he told McMahon in the mid-'90s he'd 'go down with the ship' if it came to that. There was no way in hell he was leaving for WCW even when they were booting the WWF's arse in the ratings.

This kind of loyalty is admirable, but 'Taker was also keen to stress that he's aware of how much money he could've made back then. Still, he ended up receiving pay slips for one-off matches that made up for all the lean 'New Generation' years on the backend.
