That love of improvisation is something Ciampa's believes is his main strength. He worded it as feeling the "crowd's pulse", which is an excellent way to put things. Then, in the same sentence, Tommaso Ciampa, one of the standout wrestlers industry-wide for the past few years now, told Edge and Christian that he's "not the best at anything in particular" inside the ring.

We beg to differ. Ciampa hit the nail on the head when he mentioned his ability to wing it.

That's an often-overlooked skill in modern pro wrestling. In an era of heavy scripting and second-to-second analysation, being able to feel what the audience want and shoot off in different directions accordingly is something most forget is possible. Ciampa can do that, and he can do it better than most of his peers who spent endless hours learning WWE's system.

Ciampa was a wrestler long before the Performance Center and NXT, so he's lived a little more than his co-workers. That intelligence to go with what fans want in the heat of the moment is something that endeared Ciampa to Shawn Michaels.
