10 Things We Learned From WWE 24: Edge

6. He Had An Epiphany After A Mountain Biking Fall

Edge WWE 24 Sheamus

This is a story WhatCulture has detailed before in a news post, but it's worth retelling here.

During a mountain-biking trip with Sheamus and other friends, the pair decided to film some stuff for the Irishman's 'Celtic Warrior Workouts' on YouTube. Mid-ride, Edge wiped out, fell to the mud and cut himself, then quickly bounced back to his feet. He wasn't hurt beyond superficial wounds, and that was telling.

Basically, wheels started spinning in Edge's head once he realised that hey, he'd pretty much just taken a bump there. If he could do that and survive without neck damage, then perhaps he could wrestle again. It seemed like an impossible and ridiculous thought, albeit one he couldn't shake.

This all coincided with calls from Edge's doctors. They wanted to check his neck and spine out again, and noted that he hadn't actually been given the once over since that second surgery back in 2012. When they checked him out, they found he was in good health.
