10 Things We Learned From WWE 24: Trish Stratus

1. Charlotte Flair Was Trish's Only Choice

Look away, Becky Lynch fanatics.

At several points during her 24 special, Trish Stratus refers to Charlotte Flair as the "top female superstar in the company". That's why she pitched a match against her, and it's why the idea popped into her head in the first place. Stratus knew fans would dig a cross-generational battle if she had the right opponent.

Becky might have something to say about Charlotte being top dog though. WWE has clearly presented Lynch as the biggest star of the women's division since 2018, and there's no sign of that changing any time soon. It's eye-opening to learn that Trish didn't think of Lynch first. She only had one woman in mind, and it was Flair.

Perhaps Charlotte's heel alignment made the choice easier, but one would still think Lynch's name would've been tossed around as a possible alternative. Not so, according to Trish. Charlotte was the first to come to mind, and the only worker she wanted to pass the torch to.
