After meeting Edge through media commitments, Trish decided to put her all into wrestling training and asked where her fellow bleach-blonde Canadian worked out. Then, she turned up one day at Sully's Gym in Toronto and asked head trained Ron Hutchinson if she could enrol.

Hutch was dumbfounded.

He couldn't fathom why a tiny, beautiful blonde girl would want to enter the wrasslin' business. Before anyone gets on some moral high horse about chauvinism, Ron didn't stand in Stratus' way. No, he was more concerned that she might not know what she was getting into, because he'd seen several other fitness models come and go.

Trish was the only female in the class, and she turned heads by training hard and never shying away from drills, bumps or gruelling sessions. It didn't take long (a session or two at most) before Hutchinson knew he'd read Trish wrongly. She was one of his stand out pupils.
