10 Things We Learned From WWE Raw (May 29)

4. Cruiserweight Boss

Sasha Banks' placeholder feud with Alicia Fox has surprisingly not been a total shambles, despite one of their matches culminating in a bungled pinfall.

Bizarrely, movement away from the Women's Title has been a palette cleanser for Banks, who had struggled to regain a foothold in the division after conclusively dropping the title to Charlotte Flair at the end of 2016.

WWE have a red hot angle between 'The Boss' and Bayley in their back pocket just about whenever they wish to unleash it, but the Fox distraction has been a welcome break from the tension.

Her alliance with Rich Swann during this week's episode aided the former Cruiserweight Champion in victory over Noam Dar, and ensured all four a spot on the Extreme Rules card as part of a mixed tag match that will presumably end up on the kickoff portion of the broadcast.

Baltimore is Swann's hometown, which will likely spell defeat for the popular dancing duo. But wins and losses mean so little at this time of year that Banks could re-insert herself in title contention against Alexa Bliss later in the night with little opposition.

Similarly, Swann and Dar are currently clowns on 205 Live or anywhere the Cruiserweights are actually allowed to wrestle. Stuck in limbo until one of them is gifted some form of title contention, just appearing on Raw is a saving grace of their conjoined involvement with the Banks/Fox tussle.
