10 Things We Learned From WWE SmackDown In The UK (May 9)
3. Rusev Returns
Rusev made the announcement of his formal return to television (and redebut on SmackDown Live!) via another intimidating video message communicated via his own Twitter account.
Again promoting the intriguing angle he initiated a fortnight ago, the 'Bulgarian Brute' was indignant over Shane McMahon's refusal to acknowledge his demands for a WWE Title match at June's Money In The Bank pay-per-view.
It was a simplisticly brilliant message, with the uncompromising former United States Champion reducing his usual bombast to get across the serious message that he will stubbornly leave the country and company altogether if his forcible wish is not immediately granted.
The promised re-emergence on next week's edition of the show will likely pair Rusev with the Commissioner on camera for the first time, and could even imply an appearance at the brand's Backlash pay-per-view to further hostilities.
Common WWE logic suggests that it's unlikely that babyface Shane will calmly acquiesce to the request, but the lack of a 'Big Four' event to promote will hopefully prohibit the younger McMahon's propensity to settle things physically instead.
And though not something the company may be particularly enthused with, the prior relationship between Rusev and 'Hardbody' Number One contender Jinder Mahal may even see the former Raw talent make a huge impact on his SmackDown Live supershow debut.
