1. Triple H Beat Him Because Of Plans With The Rock

There will forever be a section of the wrestling audience who despise the fact that Triple H beat Sting on the WCW icon's WWE in-ring debut. Sting doesn't have a problem with it (he makes sure to say that at several points in the short film), and there's more than one reason why.

Firstly, he was just happy to be involved. Secondly, Sting was told what WWE's plans for Triple H were the following year.

Triple H vs. The Rock was a match WWE had in mind for 2016, and it was one both parties had committed to before Sting came onto the scene. Therefore, despite knowing fan complaints would occur, the company felt Triple H should beat Sting to keep him hot for a 'Mania 32 match with Rocky. Whether you believe that or not, it's a consistent theme of Untold's narrative.

The Rock's schedule changed sometime closer to 'Mania 32, and that altered everything. Suddenly, WWE didn't have the match they really wanted, and Trips admits that he probably would've lost to Sting if he'd known Hollywood would get in the way of his follow up.
