Before enlisting Paul Bearer as his manager, 'Taker had Brother Love. The red-faced heel was also his road buddy, and they were often in a rush. Following a show in Chattanooga one night, they rushed out of the venue in costume and started driving to Atlanta.

Things were fine until they got lost. That's when Bruce Prichard pulled over to ask someone for directions.

The shifty dude he asked surrounded the car with friends, which prompted 'Taker to pop up out of the darkness like he was no-selling someone's moves and scare the hell out of everyone. According to Prichard, the guy stammered his way through directions, muttered something about 'Taker "being dead" and then ran off.

In other words, that legendary 'Deadman' sit up spot worked in real life. That probably had something to do with the fact that he was still in gimmick and it was night time; admit it, you'd pat those shants of yours too.
