After moving to commentating, Jesse would slowly begin to develop some issues working for Vince McMahon. Most centered around the rights to Ventura's likeness, and his compensation regarding opportunities outside the World Wrestling Federation. Tensions grew between the two sides.

According to Jesse, Vince once took over 40% of his earnings for a television episode of Ventura's titled 'Hunter'. When Jesse received his check for the show, it was for $700. Upon telling this news to his agent, Barry Bloom, he went dead silent on the other end of the phone. Jesse obviously knew something wasn't right and after getting his agent clearance from the WWF to discuss money, Barry informed Jesse that the full amount of his check for his role on 'Hunter' was for $1,500.

Vince took $650 of his earnings, Barry Bloom rightfully received his contracted 10% which amounted to $150, leaving Jesse with $700 - half of the original amount.

Obviously, this did not sit well with The Body and would not be the first time Jesse would have a problem with Vince McMahon over payments.
