10 Things You Should Miss About ECW

4. Gallons And Gallons Of Blood

769120

More blood was spilled in ECW than just about any other major wrestling promotion, and while ECW wasn't on the level of WCW or WWE, they still made an impact - appearing on TNN initially for a period of thirteen months before they were cancelled on the network as it re-branded to The National Network and picked up the WWF's flagship RAW is WAR. Clearly what became WWE RAW was a hit, but ECW on TNN was what opened the door for that show to move on to the network.

Of course, TNN didn't like the blood (they frequently requested that ECW tone things down) - but ECW fans loved it. The matches were brutal, bloody, and violent - pretty much any bout involving the likes of Terry Funk, Sabu, Tommy Dreamer, Axl Rotten, etc. was bound to end with a veil of blood.

When even Bill Alfonso gets in on the act and juices (with Beulah covered in his blood in the process) - well, that's when you realize just how many gallons of blood were spilled in ECW.

And in the WWE's mostly blood-free, PG eta, it's hard not to miss the red stuff.
