Quick: what is the best way to tell that the WWE Creative team have no idea how to book a match, are too pre-occupied with other, bigger feuds, or are simply apathetic to the careers of those involved in the ring? The dreaded roll-up finish. If you look back over the last number of years, especially with regards to the Divas Division, the WWE has made many televised matches end with roll-ups instead of the talent in the ring using their actual finishing maneuvers. While WWE likes to use the roll-up as a symbol of the expression anything can happen in the WWE, it does little to actually help the quality of a match. The other and arguably bigger problem is the overuse of disqualification finishes. This problem seems to happen with main event stars more often than others, and especially with John Cena. The bookers seem to believe in this strange philosophy that whenever John Cena needs to lose, he has to do it in an underhanded way. Its as if losing clean will immediately make him a loser in the eyes of the fans, despite being the companys top man for more or less a decade. This is a very big problem, and something that the WWE simply cannot fix. The best way for an up-and-coming star to get over with the fans is for them to beat a top star fair and square. Just look at Bray Wyatt: his feud with John Cena did more harm than good to him because he never beat Cena cleanly; he always had his Luke Harper and Eric Rowan at his side. It seems that in many cases, the WWE Creative Team has lost the capability to book a fair match. So many contests in the last year have ended in disqualification or with simple roll-ups. It smells of lazy booking or apathy.
