WWE creative and the roster's hunger could use a little work, according to Roman Reigns.

Roman Reigns just cut through the noise to give his true opinion on the hunger of the current roster and the state of WWE's creative team in 2026. Speaking via Pat McAfee's podcast, the 'OTC' said that he needed to "be completely honest and transparent here" when addressing where the company is at heading into Saturday's Royal Rumble PLE then onto WrestleMania 42.

It wasn't all positive.

Amongst other things, Roman put some younger members of the roster on blast for struggling to step up and fill the void created by his limited schedule. Reigns pointed out that the product is in front of more eyeballs than ever before via Netflix, and that's a golden opportunity which some just haven't taken advantage of when trying to get themselves over.

Further, after putting over Nick Khan as "a genius", the megastar also gave a damning verdict of WWE writing by saying: "We haven't evolved". That's in line with fan criticism surrounding the Triple H era - things started hot, but they've slowed significantly throughout 2025 and into the new year.

WWE is still selling out big arenas/stadiums and raking in the cash, but Roman wants to look towards the future. He doesn't necessarily like what he sees from some full-timers across Raw, SmackDown and NXT. "We have people playing around and trying to figure it out", he told McAfee.

Reigns acknowledged (ha!) his own part time status, but called it essential if he wants to keep going in-ring for as long as possible. Also, he's a family man who has a wife and 5 kids at home, so they're his priority over wrestling. Health-wise, Roman is in fine fettle, and thanked the medical staff for making him feel "25 years old".
