While the jury is largely still out on whether a reboot from NXT to NXT 2.0 was even necessary, the same cannot be said for the near-complete changing of the guard on NXT’s championship scene.

In the span of seven episodes of NXT 2.0, every championship on the brand has switched hands. The exclamation point came at NXT Halloween Havoc with three titles finding new owners in one evening. WWE has struck a nice balance between champions representing the old guard (Tommaso Ciampa, Roderick Strong), the to this point underutilised (Mandy Rose, Imperium) and brand new faces (Carmelo Hayes, Toxic Attraction) while reminding everyone who just became champion that the queue is already filling up behind them.

At the same time, the hard reset gives new opportunities to the former champions as well. KUSHIDA and MSK will no doubt be looking for their return matches sooner or later. Hit Row is SmackDown bound. Raquel Gonzalez is ready for either RAW or Smackdown today if the moment presents itself. Io Shirai is on pace to be the most anticipated NXT call-up since Shinsuke Nakamura once her presumed Women's Championship match against Mandy Rose is out of the way.

The rest of the rollout and presentation are still a tad shaky, but the title scenes have illustrated a new chapter quite efficiently.
