The Ambrose promo during the Kickoff show was one of the best parts of the four hour broadcast. It was simply Ambrose sitting down talking to Renee Young (his real life girlfriend, by the way) about how much he's admired Intercontinental Champions of the past. He was there talking about great champions of the past. It was something that should have been on television to build up the match. That promo by Ambrose actually made me feel like maybe WWE was going to build up the IC Title to mean something again. He would be a good champion that would be much better than Bad News Barrett, who is a good wrestler that never seems to get moving as IC Champ. Ambrose lost to Barrett by DQ because he wouldn't stop attacking Barrett when he was tied up in the ropes. Lame finish. It sucked. Trying to spin it as anything good would be wrong. However, Ambrose got the crowd to cheer by hitting Dirty Deeds and walking away with the IC Title that he stole. The match was a letdown, but Ambrose is likely going to be the next IC Champ. That's a positive thing.
