It was another match where the work in the match was a letdown. The crowd just didn't care about this. Goldust was trying to do all of these mindgames while Stardust was much more aggressive, but it just didn't connect with the crowd. Goldust getting the win was likely done as a way to set up a rematch. If Stardust won then there wouldn't have been a need to do the post match attack like they did backstage. By having Goldust win, then Stardust attacking it sets up the story that Stardust will want to fight his brother gain. What they did well was they set the stage for Cody Rhodes to break out as a singles star by the time this feud ends, which is probably the WrestleMania plan. He was very good in his reactions to everything, then ripping his father Dusty backstage for ruining his life by making him team with old guy Dustin. The crowd may not have been into it that much, but long term this story should be seen as a positive thing because Cody Rhodes could become a top heel after it's over.
