10 Things WWE Fans Need To Know About Austin Aries

1. Has Worked With WWE Before

Austin Aries has rarely worked with WWE, but he has been part of several projects within the company. In November, he did attend television tapings, sowing the seeds for the announcement of his latest deal with the promotion. Long before that, he was also hired by THQ for the sole purpose of lending his voice to a WWE video game. It was a pretty unique situation. Aries, then a TNA-contracted performer, would feature in a WWE-branded title. The game in question was WWE '12, released in late-2011. One of the 'Road To WrestleMania' story modes in the game featured a character by the name of Jacob Cass. Players could tailor Cass as their own Create-A-Wrestler, but his voice stayed the same in the mode. That voice belongs to Austin Aries, who delivered a confident performance that THQ must have been happy with. Fast-forward to today, and there's a chance that Aries could star in WWE 2K17 properly, which is an exciting prospect. Aries is a popular CAW for fans in WWE 2K16, so the idea of playing as him in fully-realised form is pretty cool. What else do you think WWE fans need to know about Austin Aries?
