10 Things WWE Fans Need To Know About Bobby Fish
3. He Beat Tomohiro Ishii For The ROH Television Title
In February of 2016, New Japan and Ring of Honor held the first-ever "Honor Rising" tour. While the companies had previously come together in the U.S. and Canada for War of the Worlds and Global Wars, this time, ROH was heading to Tokyo's Korakuen Hall. In the main event of the first show, Tomohiro Ishii defeated Roderick Strong for the ROH Television Title.
That sent a planned Strong-Bobby Fish title match at the upcoming 14th Anniversary Show into disarray. In the end, the bout was made a three-way match with Ishii, who retained the belt after scoring the pinfall on Fish.
Luckily for the reDRagon member, it wouldn't be his only shot at the title. At Global Wars 2016, Ishii came to Illinois to defend the belt against Fish in a singles bout. This time, the "Infamous" competitor would come away victorious, choking Ishii out in order to win the TV Championship for the first time.
