As the two-time and reigning Ring of Honor Tag Team Champions, Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly were invited to compete in New Japan Pro Wrestling in 2014. Given their association as reDRagon and their size, the men would be contesting for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Titles.

Success came quickly. While reDRagon failed in their initial challenge for the belts, they would win the Super Jr. Tag Tournament in late 2014, earning them another shot at the titles. This time, they defeated Time Splitters to win the belts, adding them to their resume. They retained the belts in a four-way match at Wrestle Kingdom 9, but lost them to The Young Bucks at The New Beginning in 2015.

At the finals of the G1 Climax tournament in 2015, reDRagon would become champions again, defeating The Young Bucks to win the titles back. That time, they registered successful defenses against Time Splitters and Roppongi Vice before losing the belts to The Young Bucks once again.
