Of all the abandoned gimmicks in the 21st century, few have garnered as many nostalgic laments as Sean O’Haire and his brief run as the Devil’s advocate. The vignettes for the new character were some of the best that WWE has ever produced, but the whole thing fell apart when it came to the ring. O’Haire was a talented worker but not a great talker, and the gimmick fell flat before being abandoned.

Fans have often daydreamed about the gimmick and whether or not it would work. Well, Killer Kross is living proof. Kross has said that he took a decent amount of influence from the short-lived gimmick, utilising the ambiguity of its message along with style aspects such as the long coat and the glasses.

Will Killer Kross bring the gimmick to NXT TV? If anyone can make the character work in the modern professional wrestling world, it is Kross. This is a man who is as eloquent as he is imposing, as calculated as he is cruel. Sean O’Haire fans, buckle up.
