10 Things WWE Fans Need To Know About Ricochet
7. He's A Former PWG World Champion
Not only does Ricochet head to WWE a former PWG World Champion, he heads to WWE having been parted from his title fewer than two weeks ago. It was on 12 January that he surrendered the belt against Chuck Taylor at Mystery Vortex X.
Holding two or three indie titles, to be fair, is pretty much part and parcel of being a budding wrestler trying to make a living outside of Vince McMahon's empire - but this piece of trivia becomes significant when you look at who else has carried the same mantle in the last decade or so.
If we limit it to just future WWE guys, there's the likes of AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Cesaro and Adam Cole (and that's without even mentioning Kenny Omega, currently one of the biggest wrestlers in Japan).
The point is: in a Venn diagram of what PWG looks for in its main event stars and what WWE looks for in its main event stars, the middle bit is pretty big. If you've been given the keys to the kingdom in California, there's a good chance they'll like you in Connecticut.
