It's worth pointing out before Gronkowski's debut that he doesn't really need the money WWE are paying him at this stage in his life. Despite his love of a good party, Rob hasn't been silly with his oodles of cash over the years, and he hasn't spent stupid money on frivolous toys like some of his NFL peers.

In his 2015 book, 'It's Good to be Gronk', Rob revealed that he's barely spent any of the salary he received from the New England Patriots. Instead, he has lived off money earned from outside endorsement deals and personal appearances. That's bloody clever considering the meathead stereotype most football stars are tagged with.

Gronkowski has been able to enjoy a great lifestyle whilst still saving the bulk of his wages.

They've been ample. The Pats paid him $10 million per year for the first five years of his contract alone, and that cash only went up towards the end of his NFL career. So, there you go. Gronk doesn't need WWE cash. He wants to earn his spot.
