Though she is lumped into the category of "models-turned-wrestlers," Rosa had a deep appreciation and affinity for the pro wrestling industry. She grew up a huge fan of Trish, as she detailed in a 2006 interview with FHM.
Actually, I've been a fan since Trish Stratus became a Diva. I used to read a lot of fitness magazines and she was my inspiration to start working out when I was like 19 or 20 years old.
There is an entire generation of WWE Divas who should idolize Trish Stratus for bringing women's wrestling forefront. They are the women who can kickass as well as they can show it. That Rosa appreciates and has great affinity for the groundwork that was laid by Stratus is refreshing. That she, herself, has a modelling background and strives every day to be the best she can be is quite the testament to her determination but also to the long-reaching effect Stratus had on girls and young women throughout her career.
Erik Beaston is a freelance pro wrestling writer who likes long walks in the park, dandelions and has not quite figured out that this introduction is not for Match.com. He resides in Parts Unknown, where he hosts weekly cookouts with Kane, The Ultimate Warrior, Papa Shango and The Boogeyman. Be jealous.
