10 Things WWE Fans Need To Know About Taya Valkyrie

1. Karen Jarrett Got Her A Job At Impact

In today's day and age, the relationship between Impact Wrestling and the Jarrett family isn't what it once was. They were previously on the best terms possible, though, to the point that Karen Jarrett actually had the influence to recommend potential signings to management.

That's how Taya Valkyrie found her home in Impact.

Both Karen and Jeff regularly visited AAA when Taya was still living in Mexico, with Karen making it clear that she was keen for the then-Lucha Underground star to make her way to the Impact Zone. Eventually, 'The Queen of the Mountain' got her wish as Taya made her Impact debut in September 2017.

The rest, as they say, is history.

It's rare we ever find ourselves giving thanks to a Jarrett in 2021, but Karen Jarrett can genuinely be thanked for laying the foundations for Taya to become the longest-reigning Knockouts Champion in history. Behind only The North's first run as World Tag Team Champions, Taya is the longest-reigning champion in Impact history.

Had Karen not become a fan of Taya's work within AAA, it's possible we may never have gotten to see her soar in Impact Wrestling. History's a funny old thing, isn't it?
