8. Lance Storm Trained Her
When it comes to professional wrestling training, Lance Storm is a name synonymous with the thought. To name but a few, the former Intercontinental Champion has trained Dolph Ziggler, Brian Pillman Jr., Tenille Dashwood, Dominik Mysterio, Chelsea Green, Tyler Breeze, and, of course, Taya Valkyrie.
She began her professional wrestling training under Storm's guidance at his Storm Wrestling Academy in early 2010, eventually graduating by that September. This is a testament to both her abilities within sports, as well as Lance's performance as a wrestling trainer. There are always stories about how it can take years for someone to be ready for going on proper wrestling events, and here you have Taya accomplishing that in less than a year.
Upon graduating, Taya predominantly wrestled for both Elite Canadian Championship Wrestling and Prairie Wrestling Alliance, the latter of which was closely affiliated with Lance Storm and his school - so close that Storm had actually become the head booker of the promotion the year before Taya stepped between the ropes for the first time.
