Despite achieving his lifelong dream of becoming world champion and beating Klitschko, Fury was plagued by personal demons following his victory.

A rematch for the titles was scheduled but Fury claimed he had "no motivation", gained an extreme amount of weight (weighing over 330 pounds in April 2016), failed a drugs test and was subsequently declared medically unfit.

Fury's downward spiral continued as his mental health deteriorated. He vacated the world titles, was diagnosed with depression and claimed to be suicidal:-

"I don't want to live. All the money in the world, fame and glory, means nothing if you're not happy...And if I could take me own life – and I wasn't a Christian – I'd take it in a second. I just hope someone kills me before I kill me self."

He revealed on Joe Rogan's podcast that at his lowest point he was seconds away from crashing his car into a bridge before a voice spoke to him and convinced him not to do it for his family's sake.

His faith brought him back from the brink, and started him on the comeback trail...
