As mentioned previously, Sami Zayn pulled Owens out of harm’s way when it seemed as though the end was near for KO. Zayn then dragged the former Universal Champion’s lifeless body on top of Shane, allowing Owens to pick up the win. It was a truly shocking conclusion to the night.

SmackDown Live takes on an entirely new complexion with this development. Why did Sami decide to help Owens? Was he doing it for KO, or was it to stop the madness? Did Zayn do this for Shane’s own good? The finish to the main event was satisfying but threw up many questions at the same time - you can’t ask for more.

There is always the chance that Sami Zayn will come out on Tuesday night and say he did it for himself or something equally insipid, but right now the blue brand is intriguing again. Turning Zayn and pairing him with Owens could be an inspired move, both for the short and long term of WWE.
