10 Things WWE Got Right At The 2016 Royal Rumble

1. The Right Person Won The Title

You wouldn't think this would be a popular opinion but judging from the response of those in attendance it appears that Triple H leaving Royal Rumble as WWE World champion was a decision the fans were on board with. Not to pat myself on the back, but I predicted that Hunter would come in at #30 and win the title, and I argued for it in an earlier article. I just felt like the heel should go into WrestleMania as the champion, and it despite what tonight's crowd would have you believe, Triple H is the bad guy in this morality play. A successful title defense on the biggest show of the year doesn't have the same impact as the championship changing hands, and that's the reason they put the belt on Triple H. He may not be a full-time wrestler, but even sitting on the shelf for the majority of the year he's still one of the best workers in the company and is one of the few men capable of getting the fans on Roman's side. Triple H loves playing the villain and hopefully he will relish the role and take it as a personal challenge to turn the tide for Roman Reigns, getting him on the right track with the fans. Like it or not, that's what we're getting so we might as well accept it and hope for the most entertaining story possible to get us there.
