SmackDown Live continued to display absolute dominance in the WWE brand way last night, as the blue brand put on another pay-per-view that entertained and enthralled from start to finish. In past years TLC has been somewhat hi and miss, handcuffed by the gimmick matches that it is lumbered with, but the 2016 effort was undoubtedly a two thumbs up show.

It was a night for the bad guys too, as heels (or at least tweener heels) won five of the six matches on the main card, with Nikki Bella the only babyface standing victorious at the end of their match. Nikki will now slowly move into a feud with new SmackDown Live Women's Champion Alexa Bliss, victorious over Becky Lynch in a tables match.

Elsewhere The Wyatt Family won main roster gold for the first time by defeating Heath Slater & Rhyno, The Miz retained his Intercontinental Championship and Baron Corbon bested Kalisto in a chair match.

The main event saw AJ Styles defeat Dean Ambrose in a TLC match, although it was James Ellsworth who made the most telling contribution after the Chinless Wonder pushed Ambrose off a ladder through a number of tables to allow Styles to pick up the win.

So a great show all-in-all, but what exactly did WWE get right last night? Here are 10 things.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
