Not everyone that appeared at No Mercy is a great wrestler. The likes of Baron Corbin are still green while Daniel Bryan’s criticisms of The Miz’s safe style ring true.

However, none of that mattered. SmackDown had every talent working in a position that got the best out of them. Look at Rhyno, a man whose best years are behind him but who in the Rhyno and Slater tag-team is more relevant than he has been in a long time. Even Naomi is allowed to stand out due to her extravagant entrance.

One of the compliments regularly thrown at Paul Heyman was his ability to hide the original ECW rosters' weaknesses. In the first few months of its life as a separate brand, those in charge of SmackDown have shown a similar talent. It’s a talent that could take them a long way.
