Most fans knew what was going to happen heading into Elimination Chamber 2018. Having missed out on a Royal Rumble victory, Roman Reigns was going to triumph in a big number one contenders match, thus earning the right to face Universal Champion Brock Lesnar, who many assumed he'd defeat in a big WrestleMania 34 coronation.

That coronation didn't happen, but Roman's win did... and it went down in one of the worst ways imaginable.

Braun Strowman absolutely dominated the match. The Chamber belonged to him. Entering second-to-last, he destroyed everything in front of him in what would have gone down as one of the most impressive feats in 'The Monster Among Men's' career, ambulance flips and all, had WWE not urinated all over it moments later.

Five men were eliminated by Strowman and his trusty Powerslam. He looked great in there, having just embarked on the most monstrous run in the structure's history... until Reigns beat just over three minutes after his last elimination.

Everything Braun had done throughout the bout was scrubbed away by Super Roman pulling his latest OVERCOMING THE ODDS stunt, and Strowman hasn't felt like a major-level threat ever since.
