7. Rusev Continues His Roll By Making Swagger Pass Out
When WWE announced a Flag Match for SummerSlam there were a lot of questions about what the stipulation really meant. In the past, WWE has done Flag Matches where a flag was hanging off the ring post and the first person to get it wins the match. In this case, the stipulation was that the winner got to have his anthem play while the flag was raised above the ring. It's a weak stipulation. They could have done something more profound. Rusev was impressive in the sense that he sold an ankle injury for the majority of the ten minute match. Swagger was selling his ribs for it. It's just nice to see somebody like Rusev selling that ankle injury as much as he did even when he was on offense. A lot of times a guy might sell an injury when it's attacked, but forget about it when they're on offense. It was nice to see Rusev selling it even when he was applying the Accolade. The result with Rusev winning wasn't a surprise. He's yet to lose a match by pinfall or submission. They are building him up to be a heel monster. A Swagger win would have been nice to see at a big show like SummerSlam, but he's not seen as a main event level guy. Rusev winning this match likely ends this feud. Don't be surprised if he goes after a bigger babyface like Sheamus for the US Title. By the way, it was hilarious how Swagger was supposedly unconscious while Colter was knocked out, yet nobody helped them until after the Russian national anthem finished playing. Perhaps they're playing up the idea that Rusev could hurt a doctor, but it was just one of those things that looked silly.
