10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Daniel Bryan
8. Daniel Wyatt
The Daniel Bryan feud with Bray Wyatt was really interesting because it made Wyatt a bigger deal in WWE. They wanted to make him one of the top heels in the company, so they paired him up with one of the top babyfaces in Bryan. It was towards the end of 2013 when it happened, which was right after Bryan had been main eventing several PPVs in a row. If it was a simple wrestling feud it would have worked really well, but they went in a direction that really didn't connect with the crowd. Bryan ended up as "Daniel Wyatt" for what was supposed to be a month or possibly a lot more if it took off. Instead, they went with the payoff of the angle within about two weeks. The whole thing felt rushed. Bryan was brainwashed by Wyatt, he joined the "family" so to speak and then they had a cage match where Bryan returned back to his normal self after attacking Wyatt. Maybe WWE realized just how silly it was to have a guy getting brainwashed in 2014. Make no mistake about it, Bryan got a huge reaction when he fought back against Wyatt and the fans loved it, but the whole thing felt incredibly rushed. We don't know if the plan for it was to end so quickly. However, it just felt like they didn't like the reaction they got initially and ran through the angle too fast. Years from now when WWE is telling the story of Daniel Bryan's rise in the company, it's unlikely that Daniel Wyatt will ever be mentioned.
