10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About The Great Khali

9. His On Screen Brother Ranjin Singh Is A WWE Writer

Khali doesn't speak English very well, so WWE did something smart by giving him managers. He had two managers during his early run in WWE: Shawn Daivari and Ranjin Singh. The early story with Daivari was that he brought Khali to WWE to destroy The Undertaker. Their partnership didn't run that long. In 2007, Khali was given a new manager that WWE initially brought in as his manager. That was a guy named Ranjin Singh, who they also said was his interpreter. Basically, he was there to do his promos for him. He wasn't a wrestler or a natural wrestling manager. He was actually a WWE writer named Dave Kapoor, who still works for the company and has been there for nearly ten years now. The on screen relationship with Khali and Ranjin changed when it was announced that they were brothers. Once the storyline ended, Ranjin wasn't needed for Khali matches anymore. The reason it's something WWE wants you to forget is that they're never going to say that they took a WWE writer and put him out there as Khali's manager. They just needed a guy that was Indian, or at least could look that part, so that's why they got Kapoor to portray Ranjin on the shows.
